One reason we are vitamin B deficient is our intake of chemically leavened bread. Chemical Leavening's such as baking powder, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), monocalcium phosphate, etc., etc.,(see link for full list) destroy and or block the absorption of B vitamins. We should be using natural leavening's such as beer, buttermilk, kefir, yeast, etc. When one consumes chemical leavening one must supplement with a natural B complex and avoid eating chemically leavened food until several hours after taking the supplement. Not so with natural leavenings.

hmm. interesting, I wonder the effect of chemical leavening on crones disease, crones typically affects the part of intestine where B-12 causing crones patients to often be fatigue and needing b-12 shots or sublingual. swallowing any supplement, just passes on thru..
